A perennial plant of 10 to 30 cm in height of the Asteraceae family, Roman chamomile, rare in France, is cultivated in Anjou under its double variety. Its name comes from the Greek and refers to the fact that chamomile grows close to the ground (Chamos) and that the fragrance of its just-opened flowers is reminiscent of apple (Melos). Roman because cultivated in Rome in the XVI and XVII centuries. Bitter tonic, this plant is recommended to accompany digestion, it soothes intestinal spasms. It is also healing for the mucous membranes and the skin, sedative, and anti-inflammatory.
