The precious yellow jewel is the fruit of the lemon tree, persistent leaf tree, of the Rutaceae family, which can reach six meters in height. It originates in Southeast Asia, but today it exists in almost the whole world. In any small vegetable garden or garden that we cherish we can contemplate a lemon-tree, for centuries its properties have been enjoyed worldwide.

The lemon, its peel or even the lemon tree leaf are used from cooking, confectionery, juices, soft drinks, teas and ice cream to medicines, cleaning products, perfumery, and even cosmetics, among others.

The intense flavor of its success is due in large part to the high concentration of citric acid, which makes it one of the fruits with the highest amount of vitamin C (ascorbic acid), but also has vitamin A, B1, B2, and B3, and is also rich in iron, magnesium, phosphorus, and potassium. This natural antibiotic allows maintaining a person in good health and has an extraordinary effect in several negative stresses of the infectious, degenerative, inflammatory type among others… It is recommended in case of flu, colds, fevers, gastrointestinal infections, gingivitis, laryngitis, esophagitis, gastritis, duodenitis, colitis, and other stresses. Externally it can be used in cuts and wounds, as it is bactericidal and healing; but be careful to never put it on the skin and then stay in the sun, because the skin will be stained.

There are even those who say that “Where there is a lemon tree there is no doctor needed”, because there are so many benefits to the human organism. A quick search in specialty books and through the internet, in websites such as: (www.melhorcomsaude.com ou www.medicina-tradicional-chinesa.com), or in books such as, “The healing power of Lemon” by Conceição Trucom, it is possible to have access to natural guidelines and treatments from this fruit considered sacred by many because of its benefits.
