Can I refuse to vaccinate my children?

Ingrid’s photo in Pixabay.    You should know that you can say no to the vaccination of your children, even those considered mandatory.

Indeed, the refusal to vaccinate is a right provided in the Articles 26, 27, 41 and in particular in the Article 68 of the Portuguese Constitution. Any person or legal representative can refuse the act of vaccination, simply by expressing that will orally or in writing.

The National Vaccination Plan only has two mandatory vaccines (Diphtheria and Tetanus), the rest being a recommendation, and even mandatory vaccines can be refused, when an individual, or his representative, assumes responsibility for that decision.
