(Ribes nigrum) (FR) Cassis De Bourgogne (EN) Blackcurrant

The Blackcurrant is a bushy shrub from 1m to 1.5m, cultivated in France since the XVIth Century for its fruits, more recently for its buds. Blackcurrant became popular after 1945, thanks to Canon Kir’s famous aperitif, made with white wine and crème de cassis. All the aerial parts of the Cassissier can be used. The fruits are rich in Vitamin C and flavonoids. The leaves and buds exhibit very interesting properties. The latter, very rich in essence, are harvested between mid-December and mid-February.

The essential oils made by Essenciagua are organic, 100% pure, and natural. Their production is carried out in France from fresh plants from organic farming, duly certified, and the distillation process is carried out using an artisanal method, slowly, at low vapor pressure, and at reduced temperature. This is one of the secrets to guaranteeing the most fragile components of the plant and all the complex richness it offers.

These oils being 100% pure, a few drops are enough to obtain the properties and active ingredients of the chosen plant. Essential oils can be diluted in base oils.
